Will Jacks has become the second cricketer after Shane Warne to attain an uncommon and undesirable record of conceding 100-plus runs in both innings of an Ashes Test. England, who are already 2-0 down in the five-match series, trail by 356 runs at Stumps on Day 3 of the third Test in Adelaide.

Jacks, who conceded 105 runs while picking up a couple of wickets in Australia's first innings, ended up conceding 107 runs in 19 overs during the hosts' second innings. Warne was the previous cricketer to concede 100-plus runs in both innings of an Ashes Test.

The former Australian great had picked up 12 wickets in the entire match at the Oval in 2005. His figures read 6/122 in 37.5 overs and 6/124 in 38.3 overs in England's first and second innings.

Warne's 12-wicket effort was not enough for his side, as the match was drawn to conclude a hard-fought series that England won 2-1. Despite the series defeat, Warne ended up with 40 wickets in 10 innings at a remarkable average of 19.92.

However, it has not been a smooth journey for Jacks, as the batting all-rounder has not been threatening enough. He has been milked for runs without troubling the opposition batters.

Travis Head and Alex Carey's partnership put Australia in pole position as the hosts will aim to carry forward the momentum from the third day into the fourth. They already have a 2-0 cushion behind them. Winning the Adelaide Test will confirm yet another series win for the Aussies against England Down Under. The fourth and fifth Test of the series are scheduled to be played from December 26 (Melbourne) and January 4 (Sydney).
