On Sunday afternoon, the San Francisco 49ers took their first loss of the season with a 29-20 road defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers came into this game dealing with a plethora of injuries, and ultimately, sloppy play and a rough game from quarterback Brock Purdy did them in down the stretch.
Despite the setback, however, Purdy is still number one on the all-time list for career passer rating at 104.8, well above second-place Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, per Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard on X, formerly Twitter.
Purdy finished Sunday's game with 288 yards but threw two interceptions, including one late that sealed any chances of a 49ers comeback, and had a season-low 75.8 passer rating in the game.
Of course, it should be noted that Purdy didn't exactly have a great array of weapons to throw to in this one, as the 49ers were down Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, and several other key offensive players in this loss. Early on, Christian McCaffrey found success as both a runner and a receiver, but he too left the game, and didn't look to be quite the same when he returned later on.

San Francisco certainly won't be putting too much stock into this loss, considering the sheer amount of things that had to go wrong in order for them to lose, but it was still a potential wake-up call as the season continues.
In any case, the 49ers will next hit the field on November 8 for a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
