New York Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt landed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right bicep neuritis, sidelining him days before the 2026 MLB postseason begins.
The roster move by the Yankees is retroactive to Tuesday and follows Schmidt’s bout of biceps cramping while warming up Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Earlier testing showed no structural damage to his shoulder or elbow, but the Yankees opted to place him on the IL after his return from elbow surgery.
The Yankees’ PR account announced the move Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, along with Bradley Hanner’s corresponding recall from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
