The New York Yankees are about to face the Boston Red Sox in a series in the 2026 MLB playoffs, as the fierce American League Division rivals begin their wild-card round series on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

One big question for the Yankees heading into the Boston series is whether superstar slugger Aaron Judge will be on the lineup.

For what it's worth, the three-time AL Most Valuable Player was spotted taking batting practice on Monday, as seen in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by baseball insider Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

As mentioned by Heyman, it was just the first time Judge had such a practice in nearly two weeks since he sustained a right calf injury.

Judge has not played a game since Sept. 16 due to the same lower-body issue.

The 2026 campaign has been a tough one for Judge, largely because of injuries. Apart from his current calf issue, he was sidelined for months after he fractured his rib.

The future Baseball Hall of Famer appeared in only 66 games in th 2026 season and hit just .241/.360/.511 with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs for the Yankees, who managed to stay afloat and make the postseason despite missing Judge for a long period.

If he returns, it will be interesting to see whether he'd be assigned as an outfielder or designated hitter, but either way, a healthy Judge would be a huge boost for New York's offense.

New York finished the regular season second in the AL East with a 93-68 record to clinch a ticket to the playoffs, via the wild-card route.
