Known as one of the most popular pro-wrestlers in the industry right now, CM Punk has now secured another acting gig. Following his departure from WWE in 2014, Punk began his UFC career and landed a few acting roles.

Punk later continued his acting roles while working for AEW and, later, upon his return to WWE as well. Following his latest role in Zootopia 2, he recently appeared on the iconic ABC crime series R.J. Decker.

Previously reported by PWInsider in Sept. 2026, Punk had filmed a role for the second season of the ABC series. His appearance was officially confirmed on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, when the show’s social media account released a preview clip showcasing the WWE star as a guest on the latest episode. The CM Punk episode of R.J. Decker aired on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC and is also available to stream on Hulu.

The role marked Punk’s first live-action film or television acting appearance since the horror movie Night Patrol, which was released in Jan. 2026. Over the years, Punk has secured several acting roles while maintaining his professional wrestling career.

Will WWE's CM Punk ever star in a movie with John Cena?

Earlier this year, during an interview with My Mom's Basement, Punk addressed the topic of starring in a movie with WWE nemesis John Cena.

“I’ve had a couple meetings, and that topic has come up. I can only imagine what John’s slate looks like; it’s probably super, super busy,” Punk continued. “I’d imagine some time in the future we’ll be working together. I’ve got like bucket list names I wanna work with, and selfishly a lot of them are my friends; Dave (Bautista) and John are probably like the top two.”
