Arguably one of the top names in the industry and a serious crowd-drawing personality, Roman Reigns recently opened up and addressed his part-time schedule. While a dominant champion for months now and before that for over 1300 days, Reigns has maintained a rather part-time schedule since returning as his Tribal Chief character almost six years ago.

Despite his long title runs, Reigns is rarely seen on television or regularly wrestling at PLEs. However, some of that has changed since he defeated CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 42 for the World Heavyweight title.

Recently appearing on NFL legend Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay podcast, Reigns was asked how he won over the fans after being initially rejected by them. “The OTC” claimed that he outworked everybody and performed at almost 150-200 shows every year between 2012 and 2018.

“I just outworked them. I do that every single day. People don't, like, they look at it as a highlight reel now, but you know how it is, every single day you're putting in work,” Reigns said. “Every live event, there is hundreds. And now with my schedule, people will pick on it, but they don't remember from 2012 to 2018 when I was doing 150, 200 shows a year, every single year, just working my a** off. But staying in the lab, continually getting the reps, conquering my 10,000 hours, you know what I mean?”

He further opened up and claimed that with his status and money on the line, it won't make sense for him to do live events and get hurt there. “And there's just so much money on the line that we got to that point where it's just like, it doesn't make sense for me to do live events anymore.

“What if I got hurt? There's so much money that's riding on Mondays and Fridays and our PLEs now that I can't just go out there and wrestle for 4,000, 5,000 only, just for those eyes only. Now, I got to conserve it. But those are the reps that you- they're critical.”

Since defeating Punk at WWE WrestleMania 42, Reigns has competed in a total of five matches, with his most recent one being against LA Knight at the WWE Money in the Bank PLE.
