The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL this season. Minnesota is 5-0 to start the season despite plenty of adversity. One Vikings player is receiving some trade hype after his slow start through five games.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano shared intel from around the league leading up to Week 6 in their latest article. They speculated on which wide receivers could be traded now that Marvin Harrison Jr. was finally dealt to Houston.

Fowler pointed to one Vikings wide receiver who seems like an obvious trade candidate before the deadline.

“Also, Jauan Jennings is the forgotten man in Minnesota's passing attack. He would fit well with any Shanahan-style scheme, which is much of the league now,” Fowler wrote.

The Vikings signed Jennings to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million during free agency this spring. His experience in a Shanahan-style offense made him look like the perfect fit in Minnesota. Playing alongside Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison should have given Jennings plenty of opportunities to succeed. Instead, he is the most neglected player on the Vikings and perhaps in the entire league.

Jennings only has two receptions for nine receiving yards through five games. He has only received five targets this season, a shocking development after how he looked in San Francisco. Jennings logged 55 receptions for 643 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 2025.

This is even more surprising because Minnesota has dealt with injuries to Jefferson and Hockenson this season. The opportunities were there for Jennings to contribute, but he simply hasn't been a priority.

Coincidentally, the 49ers make a lot of sense as a team that might want to trade for Jennings. San Francisco already has several wide receivers on injured reserve and will now be without Deebo Samuel for a few weeks. Jennings is already familiar with the 49ers' offensive scheme and could make a big impact right away.

Vikings fans should keep an eye on Jennings throughout the next month. At this point, a trade seems pretty likely given his lack of usage this season.

The NFL trade deadline is November 10th at 4 p.m. ET.
