The Tampa Bay Buccaneers helped create history for Kansas through Jalon Daniels. The past Jayhawks star became the first rookie quarterback since 1987 to start in an NFL game following his KU career. But he delivered a debacle versus the Green Bay Packers, placing his starting status against the Dallas Cowboys in jeopardy.

Daniels took over for starter Baker Mayfield for this Sunday showdown. But went 19-of-27 for 148 yards and tossed one touchdown with two picks. Head coach Todd Bowles leaned more into defense and the running game more in the end. Green Bay still escaped with a 17-14 road win.

ESPN Buccaneers reporter Jenna Laine shared if Daniels is lined up to start for Thursday Night Football's showdown versus the Cowboys.

“Coach Todd Bowles said Jalon Daniels will start Thursday night at the Cowboys. He said the positives were his competitiveness and that he ‘fights till the end,'” Laine posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
