The Tampa Bay Buccaneers turned the offense over to rookie Jalon Daniels with Baker Mayfield injured. The ex-Kansas star delivered a dismal outing, though, in the 17-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday. Yet Daniels isn't wavering from expressing his confidence after the loss.
Daniels took a lot of “learning lessons” as he described it with reporters postgame. He aims to place all that truth inside his head for the next game against the Dallas Cowboys.
“Everything you go through is built to make you stronger for every situation that happens,” Daniels said. “So there's a lot of learning lessons I'll be able to take from today and I'm going to be better from that.”

Daniels completed 19-of-27 passes, but settled for 145 passing yards and tossed one touchdown. But Daniels didn't throw his first career NFL touchdown pass until early in the fourth quarter.

Daniels still threw two interceptions and took three sacks. Head coach Todd Bowles committed to Daniels on the eve of the Packers game due to Mayfield's current setback.
The franchise quarterback for the Bucs is dealing with a dislocated thumb that prevented him from playing. Mayfield reportedly is dealing with a grip issue with the football, which forced him to sit out this contest.
Signs point to Mayfield staying off the field for the Dallas Cowboys game too, since the Bucs must practice on a short week for that Thursday Night Football showdown. That means Daniels must truly take the lessons from this loss and turn it into a stronger performance.
