The Ole Miss football program recently picked up a huge win at home against LSU to move to 3-0 on the young 2026 season. The game marked the revenge of Ole Miss on their former head coach Lane Kiffin, who abandoned the program last year before their playoff push to take his talents to Baton Rouge.
However, while the victory surely felt sweet, Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding recently stopped by ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show to break down why he is already putting it in the rearview mirror.
“It was an unbelievable environment and our fans were awesome.. Our team played their butt off and now we've got Florida this week.. They're a really good football team that's really well coached,” said Golding, per Pat McAfee on X, formerly Twitter.
Article Continues BelowIndeed, the Rebels will next hit the field on Saturday for their first road game of the season against the Florida Gators, who also enter the matchup at 3-0 and have had success against Ole Miss at home in the past.
Against LSU, Ole Miss got off to a hot start before tapering off in the second half, ultimately allowing the Tigers to battle back and tie the game at 24. However, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who is back after appealing for yet another year of eligibility, ultimately led the Rebels on what turned out to be a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, giving the team its sweet revenge against Kiffin and the other staff and players who followed him to Baton Rouge.
Still, Ole Miss entered this season with higher hopes than just winning in Week 3, and they'll need to come out ready to go in order to get a big road win on Saturday in Gainesville.
