There’s no doubt that James Cook is an important part of the Buffalo Bills offense. This is true even with the fumbling issues. However, Field Yates is pumping the brakes on his fantasy football value moving forward, according to a post on X.
“One thing that was fed to us this preseason that definitely hasn’t come to light is that James Cook is not a factor in the passing game,” Yates said. “He’s like Derrick Henry. He’s just not the stature of Derrick Henry. The elite rushing opportunities are there for James Cook. Four catches through three games for James Cook.”
Cook stood third in the NFL in rushing yards, heading into Monday Night Football. He has gained 346 yards on 58 carries with a pair of touchdowns.

It may not be a dream fantasy scenario for Cook. But he’s still getting the job done in a major way. And it’s not like fantasy managers expected 60 catches this season anyway. At least they probably shouldn’t have.
However, Cook does need to touch up the fumbling problem, according to a post on X by Bill Barnwell.
“James Cook's fumbles are really becoming a problem. Such a great back, excellent vision, incredible at the second and third levels, but now eight fumbles in his last 18 games (and one snap).”
The big question is whether the fumbles might cost him playing time down the road. They haven’t to this point. The team has, so far, decided they can live with the miscues. But the first time it costs them a game, it might be a different story.
But this time the Bills stole a win they probably didn’t deserve, according to BillsWire.com. Turnovers were a big issue.
“One hundred percent,” Allen said. “I mean, you're not going to win very many games turning the ball over that much. Sometimes the ball bounces the other way. That's what happens. But our guys fought, our defense fought, gave us an opportunity to go make some plays.”
