The Chicago White Sox are moving on in the MLB Playoffs after eliminating the Houston Astros in the American League Wild Card series. Chase Meidroth hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to seal the White Sox victory.

During the celebration, Meidroth was giving an interview when teammate Mike Vasil was by another reporter what he thought Meidroth was talking about. The response from Vasil was nothing short of epic, as seen in a clip shared by Foul Territory.

“Chase is probably talking about how good he is, and that's okay. He's my roommate. He hit a big homer,” Vasil said. “But at the end of the day, remember, stay humble, kid. Life comes at you quick.”

It is true and solid advice, but also advice you normally get from someone much older than you. Vasil made his MLB debut in 2025 with the White Sox and is just 26 years old. Meidroth made his debut the same year and is only a year younger than Vasil. Meidroth also had to shout out one of his new teammates.

“Well, Brenton Doyle, right now, is an absolute animal. He's standing on tables, he's partying like a true White Sox, cuz we party the hardest,” Vasil added as beer began to be poured on him.

Doyle joined the team in a trade at the deadline, after spending the beginning of his career with the Colorado Rockies.

Vasil was finally asked about heading to Cleveland for the next round.

“My thoughts about going to Cleveland?” the pitcher asked. “Well, what we're going to do is we're going to get on a plane, and we're going to head to Cleveland, Ohio. Somebody's pouring alcohol down my pants… and what we're going to do is we're going to show up, play White Sox baseball, and we're going to kick some a**.”

This is the playoff series win since the 2005 World Series, when the White Sox beat the Astros. Vasil and Meidroth would have been early in elementary school. The long wait made the celebration even more special. It was also chaotic, as shown by Munetaka Murakami's celebration comments.

The team has some time to recover, though. The White Sox will visit the Guardians for Game 1 of the ALDS on Saturday.
