The Miami (FL) football team got another win on Saturday, defeating North Carolina. Miami's defense struggled against the Tar Heels, but the Hurricanes won 38-35. Following the win, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal spoke out about the victory.
“Certainly not the type of performance we want on [that] side of the ball,” Cristobal said about his defense, per ESPN, “but it's a team game, and we still found a way to get the turnover when it counted.”
The Hurricanes allowed North Carolina to post 407 total yards of offense. It was yet another close win for Miami, who already had to escape earlier this season in a close victory over Florida State.
“I think it's, why are you playing close games?” Cristobal said. “Are you playing teams that are playing well and doing some things that, it's really important you fix and remedy? Or are you not playing as well as you should be. There are certain aspects where we're playing really well, but we've got to keep getting better, and certain areas we need to improve.”
Miami is still undefeated this season, with a 8-0 record. The Hurricanes are getting ready to take on Notre Dame, in what should be an absolutely epic battle. Both squads have aspirations to reach the College Football Playoff.
Cristobal thinks the North Carolina game was a great test for his team.

It's playoff football. So it's finding a way to go 1-0, but it's also finding a way to get better. In certain aspects we did, but others we've got to get better at.”
The Hurricanes play Notre Dame on November 7.
