The New Orleans Saints are currently enjoying a bye week as they gear up for next week's clash against the Cleveland Browns. The Saints sit at 2-5 on the season, having played every game so far without first round draft pick wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, who has been dealing with a prolonged hamstring issue.
Now, the team has gotten the latest update on Tyson's status moving forward.
“Saints first-pick Jordyn Tyson could return from the hamstring injury that has sidelined him as early as next week vs. the Browns, per sources. But even if it’s not then, he is not far away from playing,” reported NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
It's certainly good news for a Saints team that has seen its offense stagnate in recent weeks, with Tyler Shough really only having Chris Olave as a consistent security blanket downfield in the passing game. Tyson, the brother of NBA guard Jaylon Tyson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, played his college football for the Colorado Buffaloes and Arizona State Sun Devils before being drafted by the Saints at number eight overall this past spring, and is expected to become a key cog in the New Orleans offense moving forward.

In any case, the Saints will certainly hope to have Tyson make his NFL debut on Sunday vs the Browns.
