After winning the World Series in consecutive seasons, there seemed to be little doubt in the minds of many Major League Baseball observers that the Los Angeles Dodgers would win a third straight Fall Classic. If they had been able to do that, they would have become the first National League team to accomplish that feat.

The Dodgers may have spent the most money on their roster by wide miles and were loaded with talent and depth, but their dream died in the National League Championship Series. They were beaten in four straight games by the Milwaukee Brewers, the same team they had swept just a season earlier.

The Brewers were able to come up with clutch hits throughout the series and their pitching shut down vaunted superstars including Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman. The Dodgers appear to have plenty of talent left on their roster to make another run in the future, but their 2026 season came to a halt as they were dominated by the Brewers.

Long-time Dodger Kike Hernandez has played 10 of his 13 big-league seasons with the Dodgers. He is considered one of the most accomplished utility players in the big leagues, but the 35-year-old is unsure what the future will bring. However, Hernandez would like to be back with the Dodgers and he says he has plenty left in the tank.

Hernandez is known for his ability to come through with big hits in the postseason. He hit a key home run in the NLDS victory over the Atlanta Braves, but he was unable to solve the Brewers pitching. Hernandez has hit 17 postseason home runs in his career.
