Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan will sleep with a smile on his face on Sunday. McMillan helped the Panthers upset the Detroit Lions, 32-26, with an impressive performance, highlighted by an unreal play in the fourth quarter.
With Carolina trying to fend off Detroit on third-and-14 with three minutes left, the second-year wide receiver caught a difficult pass from Bryce Young before falling out of bounds, much to the thrill of Bank of America Stadium.
It proved to be the game-saving play, pumping up the 23-year-old McMillan. Jared Goff, on the other hand, could only bow his head on the bench.
McMillan, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, finished with a game-high 14 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
Young also had two touchdowns, going 29-of-41 for 329 yards.
The Panthers, who improved to 2-2, will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
More details to come.
