Washington football has now lost three straight games. After coming into the season with high hopes, they won their first three games of the year. They then opened Big Ten play and have not gotten a win. Last time out, it was a 41-24 loss to Iowa, and in the game, Washington starting quarterback Demond Williams went down with an injury.
Now, Williams is getting an update on his status, per Pete Nakos of On3.
“I’m not under the impression that he’ll be playing this week,” head coach Jedd Fisch said of his quarterback.
Williams has been solid this season. He has completed 116 of 174 passes for 1,396 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also run in two scores. Williams has thrown just three interceptions as well. Williams waffled on his decision to stay at Washington this year. He initially committed to the program, but then entered the transfer portal after the 2025 season. The quarterback then withdrew from the portal and decided to stay with the program.

Brown completed 28 of 39 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Iowa, playing in relief of Williams. Brown had spent the past two seasons at Stanford, both seasons with limited appearances and starts.
Washington needs to turn their season around quickly. They are 0-3 in Big Ten play, one of four teams sitting at 0-3 in the conference. They will hit the road for a Friday night game this week, visiting Purdue. The Boilermakers have been a surprise this year, sitting at 3-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play. After the Friday night contest, Williams will have an extra week to get healthy before visiting Nebraska on Halloween.
