The NFL has reversed course concerning defensive tackle Zxavian Harris’s eligibility to play in the NFL.

In a memo to teams on Monday, the NFL announced that Harris is eligible to visit, try out for or sign with any team as a free agent. Harris was initially ruled ineligible in September after attempting to join the LSU team after spending part of the offseason with the Saints as an undrafted free agent signing.

Per the memo, via Tom Pelissero of Netflix, the NFL determined that Harris did not participate in football activities in college after being waived by the Saints in August.

Harris had 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception at Ole Miss last season.

Tight end Dae’Quan Wright also attempted to join LSU this summer — he was on the Browns’ roster — and was ruled ineligible by the league along with Harris. There’s no word on a change to his status.
