Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are rolling, and after a dominant second half carried them past the Miami Heat on Thursday night, the superstar guard sounded like a man who believes in this group.
The Warriors pulled away for a 120-100 win at Chase Center, extending their winning streak to six games. Curry made it clear the hot stretch is doing wonders for the team’s belief.
“This run that we are on is building a lot of confidence,” Curry said, via Anthony Slater of ESPN.
It is easy to see why. After the game was tied 53-53 at halftime, Golden State blew it open in the third quarter, outscoring Miami 38-23. The Warriors won the second half 67-47 and led by as many as 20 points.
Curry led the way with 29 points in just 28 minutes, shooting 9-of-19 from the field, 6-of-12 from deep and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. He was able to rest down the stretch while the team’s younger players closed things out. It came on the heels of a 34-point outing in Monday’s win over the Phoenix Suns.
Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg stuffed the stat sheet once again, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Draymond Green dished out 11 assists, while nine Warriors scored at least eight points in a balanced effort.
Will Richard and Brandon Williams each added 10 points, and Al Horford went a perfect 3-of-3 from the field for eight points.
Golden State’s defense also feasted, forcing 22 Miami turnovers and turning them into 28 points.

Former Warriors star Klay Thompson, playing in his first game at Chase Center as a member of the Heat, finished with 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting, one night after hitting the game-winner against the LA Clippers.
The win improved Golden State to 6-3 after an 0-3 start to the season. The Warriors have not lost since falling to the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 24. Miami, playing on the second night of a back-to-back, fell to 3-6.
The Warriors will look to keep the streak alive when they wrap up their homestand against the Orlando Magic on Saturday and the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
