Ask the NBA's biggest stars which skill they would steal from a peer, and the answer keeps coming back to Stephen Curry. In a league video released Oct. 24 as part of its American Express NBA Tip-Off content, 19 players said they would take Curry's shooting, the most votes for any skill named.
The record book shows why. Curry, 38 and in his 18th season with the Golden State Warriors, has made 4,250 career 3-pointers, 860 more than second-place James Harden, while shooting 42.2 percent from deep.
The players who picked his shot included Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Donovan Mitchell, Scottie Barnes, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, De'Aaron Fox, Pascal Siakam, Cooper Flagg, Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, Jaylen Brown, Dylan Harper, Darryn Peterson, twins Ausar and Amen Thompson, and Stephon Castle.

The league's general managers also put Curry first. In the NBA's 2026-27 GM survey, he received 97 percent of the votes for best pure shooter, up from 93 percent last season. He also earned 80 percent of the votes for best at moving without the ball and led the poll for the player GMs would want taking a shot with the game on the line, receiving 50 percent of the votes.

He has held the career 3-point record since Dec. 14, 2021. Counting the playoffs, he entered this season with 4,898 career 3-pointers, 102 short of becoming the first player to reach 5,000. He is also a career 91.2 percent free-throw shooter.
Curry signed a two-year, $116 million contract ahead of the 2026-27 season. A two-time MVP and the only unanimous MVP in league history, he scored 23 points in the Warriors' 127-105 season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
