What happens when two of the NBA’s biggest trash-talkers meet? Draymond Green learned it firsthand. The latest confrontation between the Golden State Warriors' veteran and Dillon Brooks took place during the Bay Area team’s win over the Phoenix Suns.

Brooks claimed he stepped into Tuesday's altercation to calm things down. Green strongly disagreed with that explanation during a recent appearance on his podcast, arguing that Brooks' actions did not match his claim.

“He was talking. He came in talking, putting his shoulder on my shoulder, putting his chest on my shoulder. You know that ain't how you de-escalate,” Green said.

“Yeah, he was talking. Putting his chest on my shoulder. That ain’t how you de-escalate. So I just wish he stood on the type of business he was on.”

Green also questioned why Brooks approached him instead of going to his own teammates if his intention was to settle the situation.

“When you're de-escalating, you usually go to your teammate, but your teammate's there, so you're not de-escalating anything,” he added.

The confrontation happened in the third quarter when Green threw Suns center Khaman Maluach to the floor while trying to stop a basket. Brooks rushed toward Green, leading to a physical exchange. Both players received technical fouls, while Green was ejected.

After the game, Brooks said Green had been “tweaking” throughout the contest. Green took issue with that comment, accusing Brooks of trying to win public support rather than standing by his actions.

Green also challenged Brooks to embrace the reputation he has built in the league instead of presenting himself as someone who was only trying to calm the situation.

The Warriors eventually rallied for a 116-113 victory after Green's ejection. Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski both said the incident gave the team extra motivation. The disagreement, however, appears far from settled. Green has made it clear he does not believe Brooks' explanation of what happened.
