While she made a splash at Game 4 of the NBA Finals in June, some players don't think Taylor Swift is a real New York Knicks fan.

During an appearance on Deflected, Tyler Kolek and Miles McBride played NBA 2K26. They were asked who the “fakest celebrity fan” is that they've seen at a game.

Kolek had to answer since McBride made the next basket. He believes there are a lot of “performative” fans, especially ones like Swift.

Q “Who’s the fakest celeb fan you’ve seen courtside?”

Tyler Kolek “Maybe Taylor Swift?”

Deuce McBride “I would agree…Swifties not gonna like that answer”

Kolek “I’m gonna get some hate…I guess she’s got a lot going on…can’t come all the time…but it’s a little performative” pic.twitter.com/r7v4AJBK04

“At the Knicks games, I would say it's very performative 'cause they just want to be seen at the game; they're not necessarily fans,” he said. “Maybe Taylor Swift. I don't know if I've seen her at any other games.”

McBride tried to warn his teammate, warning him, “Swifties not gonna like that answer,” though he agreed. Deuce did give a shoutout to some tried and true fans like Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan.

Kolek tried to save himself from the wrath of Swifties, acknowledging that the singer might have “a lot going on so she can't come all the time.” Still, it's “a little performative,” at the very least.

When did Taylor Swift last go to a Knicks game?

Swift last attended the Knicks' dramatic 29-point comeback in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. She sat next to Este and Alana Haim and Mariska Hargitay. Swift wore a themed shirt that read, “Stevie Knicks.”

Just a few weeks earlier, she attended one of the Knicks' wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals with her now-husband, Travis Kelce. They sat courtside for the Cavs' 13-point loss. The Cavaliers would ultimately be swept in the series.

The “Shake It Off” singer has strong ties to the Big Apple. She moved there years ago and wrote the anthem “Welcome to New York” for her 1989 album. She also married Kelce at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks' home arena, in July 2026.
