Victor Wembanyama is a larger-than-life figure. The French big man has put the San Antonio Spurs back on the map.

On Sunday, Wembanyama was featured in a 60 Minutes profile. During the interview, he was asked about what he likes and doesn't like about living in America. He gave an eye-opening answer about the one thing he didn't like, per 60 Minutes.

“Good: You’re never judged for being ambitious,” Wembanyama said. “Bad: the social interactions are more shallow here.”

Quite a contrast between growing up in France and living in the United States. Essentially, Wembanyama said that social interactions in the United States are “not as in-depth” as they are in other places.

In France, there is a strong emphasis on politeness and courtesy. However, playing in the United States pushes Wembanyama to reach greater heights by any means necessary.

In both countries, Wembanyama has become a cult icon. His stature and versatility have made him the next big man in the NBA to transcend the game.

Last year, Wembanyama won the Defensive Player of the Year. He also led the Spurs to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the New York Knicks in five games.

Reports say Wembanyama isn't ready to talk about the loss. That suggests the loss stings and is fueling his desire to go the extra mile.

The Spurs are off to a 4-2 start. Wembanyama is averaging 28.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. They play the Utah Jazz on Monday at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio at 7:30pm CST/8:30pm EST.
