The UCLA Bruins are a perfect 8-0 headed into November 7's road game against PJ Fleck's Minnesota Golden Gophers amid head coach Bob Chesney's message to Bruins fans about their No. 5 ranking. Chesney's team blanked the Nevada Wolfpack, 27-0 in their last game, causing the UCLA coach to send a message about not resting on their laurels.

On Friday, November 6, the eve of the Bruins' game in Minneapolis, the team's injury report was revealed and it was good news for offensive lineman Jordan Davis.

Davis was alone in the “probable” category for coach Chesney's team, while nine others were listed as out for the game.

Davis is a 6-foot-4, 328-pound fifth-year senior who transferred from the South Alabama Jaguars by way of the South Carolina Gamecocks. Davis has led a powerful running game that has gained traction behind the three-headed monster of Wayne Knight, Anthony Woods and Jaivian Thomas.

Knight leads UCLA with 680 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, but he and his offensive line will be tested against a physical Minnesota defense that has helped pace a 5-3 team. The Bruins found themselves ranked highly in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, but there is plenty of trepidation going on the road to face what should be a fired-up Gophers team that scored a big upset over the Michigan Wolverines earlier this year.

There is a great vibe surrounding Chesney's squad, but a very good vibe in Minneapolis which should make for an exciting, and physical, game in Big Ten country that will challenge the Bruins in a new way.
