A few days ago, Netflix finally confirmed the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. After months of confusion and worry, the “Battle of Britain” was finally confirmed.
The fight is now scheduled to take place on Dec. 11, 2026, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. However, after the announcement, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that the fight still wasn’t actually confirmed, as he questioned Netflix’s press release.
Hearn and Joshua threatened to cancel the fight due to Dana White’s involvement in the promotion. However, things have now seemingly fallen back on track, and the fight is now on again.
Article Continues BelowZuffa Boxing boss Dana White's involvement in the fight wasn’t the only concern that bothered Joshua and Hearn, though, as the Matchroom promoter recently surfaced his concern regarding the drug-testing protocol. VADA is responsible for overseeing the drug testing, and Hearn stated that testing was meant to start at the beginning of contract negotiations, but he claimed Fury had not been tested.
Although Joshua still has ongoing concerns, reports indicate that Fury woke up this morning in his London hotel room to take his first drug test before the fight. This update comes just hours before the two are scheduled for their first face-off at the British Airways Arc in London at 6PM BST.
Hearn had previously threatened to delay the press conference due to White's involvement. However, White recently pulled out of attending the event. As of now, there are no confirmed updates on White's presence at the press conference.
