With just a few weeks left ahead of his much-awaited clash against Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury has now opened up about his future and retirement plans. Fury vs. Joshua is currently scheduled to take place on Dec. 11, 2026, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Ahead of their fight, Fury recently dropped an update on both his and rival Anthony Joshua's future. Speaking to WSVN Miami, Fury claimed that while he is open to fighting more, Joshua is looking at his final payday with this fight.

Later, speaking to IFL TV, Fury claimed that he won't be retiring soon and wants to take part in twelve more fights. “I’m going to continue. I’ve got two fights left on my contract. I’ll finish the contract off and then probably sign another 10-fight deal. Who knows? If the money’s right, I’ll sign another 10 fights, but they’ve got to be quick because I’m getting older,” he said.

Putting this into perspective, after coming back from his three-year hiatus in 2018, he has averaged two fights per year, meaning that if he fought 12 more times, he would retire at roughly age 44, which seems doable.

Last year, after losing to Oleksandr Usyk twice, Fury announced his retirement. However, his statements were taken particularly seriously by the fans, simply based on Fury's history of retiring and coming back. As of now, while he plans to have twelve more fights, he has not confirmed a single match after his Joshua bout. Despite his statements, it's still not confirmed whether Fury would actually take part in twelve more fights or not.
