Texas football was in dire need of a win this past weekend. They had dropped two straight, losing to both Oklahoma and Florida. They got that bounceback, as Texas defeated Ole Miss 34-27.
Now, the winning streak for the Longhorns continues as they just got a huge commitment on the College Football Recruitment trail, per Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
“Class of 2027 LB Jason Crenshaw has Flipped his Commitment from Georgia Tech to Texas, he tells me for Rivals. The 6’2 215 LB had been Committed to the Yellow Jackets since June. He’s the 2nd LB to flip to Texas this week,” Fawcett posted to X, formerly Twitter.
RJ Hudson was the other linebacker who recently flipped. He was comitted to Clemson initially, but went on an official visit to Texas and decided to change. Meanwhile, Crenshaw spoke about the decision to flip his commitment, per Justin Wells of Inside Texas.

The entire coaching staff made me feel valued, and you can tell they’re serious about winning and developing guys for the next level. I know I was talk with my dad and this is a big decision and we are going to make sure it’s the right fit, whether we stay committed to GT or flip. This visit gave me a lot to think about, but I’m not rushing any decisions.”
Texas now has the ninth-ranked recruiting class for the class of 2027. They are also fourth in the SEC.
