The Philadelphia 76ers are less than three weeks away from kicking off their 2026-27 season, with new faces Jaylen Brown and LeBron James now in the fold. The 76ers have gotten training camp underway this week as they look to build some synergy before the new season kicks off.

James has been widely reported to be living in New York City while playing with the 76ers, and was recently spotted leaving the team's practice in a helicopter to head back to the Big Apple.

Now, 76ers star Tyrese Maxey has reacted to that development, referencing his own car issues earlier this week.

“One of us left in a helicopter, the other one was sitting on the curb,” he said, per PHLY Sixers on X, formerly Twitter.

Regardless of where he spends his downtime, James figures to play a big role for the 76ers on the court this season, having already adjusted to playing a less burdensome offensive role last year for the Los Angeles Lakers, when he often took a backseat to both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves in terms of handling the ball.

Still, questions persist about how the 76ers will divvy up the touches this year, with Maxey, James, Brown, and Joel Embiid all accustomed to getting their fair share of time with the basketball. Skeptics have also pointed out defensive concerns, shooting issues, as well as questions about health and availability as reasons to doubt the 76ers this year.

In any case, Philadelphia will look to start answering those questions when their regular season gets underway on October 20 on the road vs the defending champion New York Knicks.
