Reaching 2,000 runs in men's T20 Internationals is a significant milestone, and doing so quickly by balls faced is an even rarer achievement. Only a handful of batters in the history of the format have managed to get there in under 1,400 deliveries.

On October 11, 2026, Abhishek Sharma became the fastest batter in men's T20I history to reach 2,000 runs in terms of balls faced, surpassing a record that had stood since December 2023.
