Tennessee Titans wide receiver Carnell Tate was added to the team's injury report Thursday with a back issue ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium. The rookie participated fully in Wednesday's practice but was limited the following day.

Tate was one of several Tennessee players listed on Thursday's report. Safety Amani Hooker missed practice while remaining in concussion protocol. Tight end David Martin-Robinson also didn't practice because of a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, defensive tackles Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers were limited with back issues, safety Kevin Winston Jr. was managing a shoulder injury, cornerback Marcus Harris was dealing with knee and ankle problems, and tight end Gunnar Helm was limited with a knee issue.

Tate's injury comes after his most productive NFL performance. The fourth overall selection recorded nine receptions for 145 yards on 12 targets against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

His 145 receiving yards ranked 11th among individual performances in a game this season, while his 268 yards on 22 catches placed him 15th in the league. Tate accounted for nearly two-thirds of quarterback Cam Ward's 222 passing yards.

The only blemish in that breakout outing was that Tate lost a fumble after a long reception late in the first half, allowing the Ravens to convert the turnover into a 64-yard field goal. Pro Football Focus gave him a 67.0 grade for that game and a 63.8 grade for the season. He is still searching for his first NFL touchdown.

A return to full participation Friday would help Tate avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday's contest.
