Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain has kept himself busy with his teammates this summer, including All-Star Chet Holmgren, ahead of his first full season in Oklahoma City. And with Holmgren's $250 million max contract extension kicking in the 2026-27 season, the All-NBA forward has a little extra money to spend. So, he took Jared shopping.

Holmgren also dropped a bar on McCain about buying expensive watches, per McCain's vlog.

“You don’t wear a watch to tell the time, you wear a watch to tell people that your time is valuable,” Holmgren said. “That was hard.”

Holmgren, coming off a breakout season, was also named to the All-Defensive First Team for the first time in his career. He finished second to San Antonio Spurs All-Star Victor Wembanyama for Defensive Player of the Year, and received his first All-Star selection, as he and the Thunder will look to bounce back from their Game 7 defeat to the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals.

Holmgren posted a career bests in points (17.1), rebounds (8.9), and field-goal percentage (55.7%) in 2025-26. McCain, who was traded to Oklahoma City midseason, shined in his first 30 games with the Thunder. The second-year guard averaged 10.4 points on 46.2% shooting, including 39.1% from deep, and 2.1 rebounds per game entering the playoffs.

He started two playoff games for Jalen Williams in the postseason, averaging 10.0 points, while shooting at a 37.1% clip from beyond the 3-point arc. After the Thunder traded Isaiah Joe in a cost-cutting move over the summer, McCain is anticipated to fill the void in an increased role this upcoming season.
