Gabby Agbonlahor has called on England boss Thomas Tuchel to turn to the youth for the upcoming international break.
Tuchel will announce his England squad for the extended domestic hiatus this week as the Three Lions get their UEFA Nations League campaign underway.
England will face Spain, Czechia - twice - and Croatia over the coming weeks as they look to build upon their third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup.
And Agbonlahor has named three young stars he wants to see the German turn to for the looming Nations League clashes.
Who does Gabby want in the squad?
"I want to see some changes in this squad," Agbonlahor told Alan Brazil on talkSPORT Breakfast on Thursday morning.
"I want to see [Bournemouth midfielder] Alex Scott come in. I want to see Josh King from Fulham come in.
"[Liverpool winger Rio] Ngumoha come in as well.
"I want to see some of the older players not in."
talkSPORT presenter Laura Kirk-Francis brought up the subject again later in the show, asking Gabby: "Is this an opportunity to bring in someone like Rio Ngumoha, [Max] Dowman, young talent for this international break?"
To which Agbonlahor replied: "Yes. Josh King, Alex Scott. This is the chance to see them against a Spain. And it's a Nations League game against Spain.
"It's a competitive game. Go and throw them in there.
"Don't be bringing Jordan Henderson back into the squad, or some of the older players.
"Perfect chance. Four games. Give the youngsters a chance to show what they've got. Please!"
When does Tuchel name his England squad?
England's first game since the 2026 World Cup is against defending world champions Spain at Wembley next weekend.
The Three Lions will play a total of four games across the coming weeks after FIFA made the decision to merge the September and October international break from the start of the 2026/27 campaign.
And Tuchel will reveal his squad on Friday, 18 September at 10am.
The England boss will then give a press conference to explain his selections.
