The Kansas City Chiefs are looking like a dynasty once more. Kansas City is 4-0 to start the 2026 season, immediately erasing bad memories from last year. The Chiefs could even reunite with Tyreek Hill to give their offense another boost. One offseason addition on offense has completely changed the game for the Chiefs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.
Sports writer Scott Kacsmar revealed an absolutely ridiculous stat about Kenneth Walker III that shows how much he's helping the Chiefs.
Kacsmar shared data on the top 10 leading rushers in the careers of some of the NFL's best quarterbacks. The top 10 list for Mahomes reveals that Walker has already made the list after just four games.
Walker already has 87 carries for 537 rushing yard and four touchdowns to start the season. That puts him in eight place for career rushers supporting Mahomes throughout the legendary quarterback's career.
Isiah Pacheco holds the top two spots on the list after logging 935 rushing yards in 2023 and 830 rushing yards in 2022. Other backs on the top 10 list include Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kareem Hunt, Darrell Williams, and Damien Williams.
Article Continues BelowBased on his hot start to the season, it certainly looks like Walker will skyrocket to the top of this list in no time. In fact, he only needs 200 more rushing yards to break into the top five.
One reason why the Chiefs have such low rushing totals in the Mahomes era is because they love to throw the football. But as Mahomes has gotten older, head coach Andy Reid has increased how often the Chiefs run the football. They just haven't had a talented running back like Walker in quite some time.
Now that Walker is in Kansas City on a long-term deal, the future is once again bright for the Chiefs.
Kansas City is on a bye week in Week 5. That gives the Chiefs extra time to prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the Chargers.
