Texas football is facing mounting tensions to address its quarterback position. Yes, that involves fans hoping Arch Manning lands on the bench. Sounds like coach Steve Sarkisian is riding with Manning for the Ole Miss showdown, though.
Sarkisian even dropped an “edgy” truth bomb about how his QB is, arguably, the most talked about player in America.
“I would use the word edgy, and I like it. He's edgy right now. And I think that somebody texted me today that we lost the ‘Aw Shucks' kid and we created something else,” Sarkisian began via Tyler Horka of On3/Rivals Thursday.
But Sark downplays that Texas has lost Manning during this struggling state.
“I don't know if we lost him. We created this. We did. All of us. Y'all included. Me. The whole thing, right? Everybody on ESPN, we've created this. And so we'll see what comes out of it,” Sarkisian said.
Another words, Sarkisian is acknowledging the hype train involving Manning. And now addressing how it's hit brief shaky ground.

And the best way for him to fight back is going out and playing really good football with his teammates and enjoy playing football with his teammates. And so I'm looking forward to watching him compete Saturday night.”
So Sarkisian is all in on Manning leading the slumping Longhorns against No. 7 Ole Miss. Even with Manning fading on NFL Draft boards and Texas facing a stunning third loss after briefly shooting up to No. 1.
