A wild ending unfolded at Darrell K Royal Stadium in Austin, Texas as the Longhorns survived an Ole Miss recovered onside kick late in a 34-27 SEC victory. Manning looked like his best self on a huge bomb to Ryan Wingo that turned heads in the Longhorns' victory, which led to a postgame interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe.
The Longhorns QB had a proposition for Rowe as told her an interesting stat and invited her back to Texas.
“You need to start doing our games more. We're 3-0 with you this year,” Manning told Rowe, to which she replied, “Hey, we'll take it.”
The game was marred by a shoulder injury suffered by star wideout Cam Coleman that caused him to head to the locker room. Wingo went over 100 yards on the day with one touchdown, while Raleek Brown led the ground charge with 157 yards on 23 carries.
Manning made an emphatic statement on a week when Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss became a media darling and Manning became a punching bag. The Longhorns QB didn't concern himself with public opinion too much and played his game, uncorking deep balls, scrambling, and generally playing like the player everyone expected to see before the season started.

With the score tied at 24, Manning called his own number and ran in what would prove to be the winning touchdown on the night. October 31 brings a home game against Mississippi State, one that Rowe would do well to attend and Manning would do well to win, whether or not the popular ESPN sideline reporter shows up.
