The Milwaukee Brewers have made a habit of digging out of early holes this October, and Brice Turang knows exactly why. Milwaukee rallied from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday night at American Family Field, taking a 2-0 series lead.
It was the Brewers’ seventh comeback win of the postseason. They also erased a 4-0 deficit to finish off a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLCS.
After the game, Turang told FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal that the Brewers simply refuse to let a bad start define them.
“We’re just going to do whatever it takes to win the game. No matter if we’re behind or ahead, we’ve got to just keep pushing,” Turang said. “We’re not done until the game’s over. These guys bought into just going out there and competing every inning, every pitch, no matter the situation, no matter who’s pitching.”

That was on full display Saturday. Milwaukee chipped away after Tampa Bay’s four-run first, cutting the deficit to 4-3 by the fourth inning. Sal Frelick tied it with a solo homer in the sixth after a nine-pitch battle, and Turang praised his teammate’s work ethic.
“We were all screaming. I’m happy for him, man. He works really hard,” Turang said. “He’s in the cage working hard, and when his name got called, he answered.”
Turang then sparked the go-ahead rally himself. He led off the seventh with a double off Tyler Wells, moved up on a flyout and scored on Cooper Pratt’s single to right. Asked about his approach in that at-bat, he kept it simple.

Aaron Ashby closed it out, stranding the tying run at third in the ninth to extend his scoreless run this postseason. Turang had nothing but praise for the left-hander.
“He’s not scared of the moment. He’s not scared of the person,” Turang said. “He’s going to go after you. He’s going to throw his best stuff and challenge you.”
The Brewers will look to take a 3-0 series lead in Game 3 on Monday at Tropicana Field.
