Tuesday football tips

Bet of the Day - Liverpool to beat Tottenham @ 4/5

Both Liverpool and Tottenham were involved in goalless Premier League draws at the weekend, the Reds held by Fulham at Anfield and Spurs unable to penetrate Everton in north London.

Worryingly for Roberto de Zerbi, his Spurs side remain without a Premier League goal after four games.

Their recent record at Anfield doesn't bode well, either, as the Lilywhites had lost four on the trot here prior to Richarlison snatching a last-minute leveller in the 1-1 draw in March.

That run of four losses saw Spurs conceding 17 goals, including a 4-0 semi-final loss in this competition in February 2025. Another fruitless trip to Merseyside is in store for a side lacking conviction and with just two shots on target in their last two games.

Bet Builder - Middlesbrough to beat Millwall, Over 2.5 Goals, Will Lankshear to Score Anytime & Sebastian Berhalter 1+ Shots on Target @ 5/1

Middlesbrough have a chance to move to the Championship summit if they beat Millwall at the Riverside and Kim Hellberg's side look up to the challenge.

They showed character on Saturday as they came from behind to lead Norwich 3-1 then found a late winner after the Canaries had forced parity in the second half.

Both teams have scored in five of Middlesbrough's six league games and in two of Millwall's last four. The last five Championship games involving Alex Neil's side have averaged four goals per game.

Will Lankshear is Boro's talisman after a big-money summer switch. He was absent from the scoresheet at the weekend but had five goals in five Championship games previously amongst a tally of seven strikes so far this season.

American midfielder Sebastian Berhalter netted two first-half goals on Saturday and had a game-high four shots over the 90 minutes. He can land at least one shot on target against a Millwall defence that has conceded 11 times in four Championship games since earning opening wins over Bristol City and Norwich – both opponents that played significant portions of those games with ten men.

Acca - Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Bristol City & Hibernian all to win @ 7/1

The case for Liverpool and Middlesbrough wins looks strong. Andoni Iraola's side face a blunt Tottenham attack, while Boro are scoring freely and face a Millwall side leaking goals alarmingly as their squad struggles with injuries.

Bristol City were no match for Southampton on Saturday but the Robins had taken 10 points from 12 in the Championship before that St Mary's setback, scoring at least two goals in each of those games. They welcome Lincoln to Ashton Gate now and while the Imps are coping well with their rise to the second tier, they have scored just three goals in the last five games in league and cup and may struggle here.

Hibs eased into the League Cup semi-finals in Scotland with a 3-0 win at Ross County on Saturday and can take three points from Kilmarnock at Easter Road. Neil McCann's side have just one point from five games, conceding 14 times already, and have lost eight of their last nine visits to Leith.
