The Texas football program is still basking in the glory of its recent home win over the Ohio State Buckeyes to start their season 2-0. The Longhorns rallied from a 20-3 deficit in that one to pull off one of the biggest comeback wins in the program's history.

Recently, Steve Sarkisian has been doing a lot of talking (except to Holly Rowe), and now, the head coach at Texas has fired back at a recent report from The Athletic about how expensive the Longhorns roster was to compile.

“Steve Sarkisian says @TheAthletic's Texas football roster value (around $50M) is ‘inaccurate.' He says he's all for transparency in releasing how much every roster in CFB costs, but he is not a fan of guesses form media outlets,” reported Tyler Horka of Inside Texas on X, formerly Twitter.

“How do you know it's actually true?” said Sarkisian, per Horka.

Sarkisian didn't take the opportunity to reveal what his claimed accurate number would be, but that would seem to be beside the point, at least in his eyes.

Sarkisian made headlines in the aftermath of the Ohio State win by ditching a postgame interview with Rowe, an ESPN sideline reporter. Days later, Texas quarterback Arch Manning took things from bad to worse when he publicly drew attention to and laughed at an AI-generated video of Sarkisian slapping Rowe, for which he has since apologized, with Rowe accepting.

Texas will hope to keep the attention on the gridiron when they next hit the field on Saturday evening for a home game against UTSA before they get their SEC schedule underway the following week.
