When the discussion turns to loyalty, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry’s name inevitably comes into the conversation. The Warriors' franchise hero has spent all 17 seasons of his NBA career wearing a Golden State jersey, and now Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has revealed an interesting detail behind the veteran star’s decision to remain with the franchise.

Kerr revealed that he asked the Warriors superstar whether leaving Golden State had ever crossed his mind. However, Curry’s response immediately made his priorities clear.

“When we talked at the end of last year, I asked him if that was a consideration. And first thing he said was, ‘I'm not moving my family. You know, my family is so important to me. They're happy here.’ And he said, ‘I don't want to go anywhere,’” Kerr said.

Curry's loyalty is especially remarkable in an era when NBA stars regularly switch teams in search of championships, better opportunities or more favorable situations. Yet, Curry has continued to remain committed to the franchise that believed in him on draft night.

The Warriors' sharpshooter has won four NBA championships with the Warriors, won two MVP awards, and established himself as the greatest three-point shooter the NBA has ever seen. More importantly, Curry has become the face of a franchise that underwent a historic transformation during his time with the Warriors.

This offseason, Curry once again reassured Warriors fans of his commitment to the franchise. In September, he agreed to a two-year contract extension reportedly worth $116 million.

The new contract keeps Curry with the Warriors through 2029, which would take him into his 20th NBA season. If he plays that 20th season, he would join Kobe Bryant, Udonis Haslem ,and Dirk Nowitzki as the only players in NBA history to spend 20 or more seasons with a single franchise.
