The Steelers made an addition to their 53-man roster on Tuesday.
They announced that they have signed cornerback Terrell Smith off of the Commanders’ practice squad. They had an open roster spot after making other moves on Monday, so there was no need to make a corresponding drop from the active roster.
Smith was a Bears fifth-round pick in 2023 and he played in 26 games over his first two seasons. He tore his patellar tendon last year and was signed by Washington after being cut in Chicago this summer.
Smith has 68 tackles, an interception, 10 passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery while with the Bears.
The Steelers also announced that they have signed defensive lineman K.J. Henry to the practice squad. Linebacker Bradyn Swinson was released to open a spot for him.
