Perhaps the Pittsburgh Steelers have already shown that their offense is pretty good. Jaylen Warren is surely balling out. However, head coach Mike McCarthy pinpointed one area that is holding the Steelers back despite the 3-2 start, according to a post on X by Ray Fittipaldo.

McCarthy: “We need to be better on special teams.”

Usually, it’s a good sign when a coach can only find fault with the special teams. That means the offense and defense are functioning quite well.

Steelers seem to be making headway

McCarthy talked about the issues, according to the Steelers’ YouTube page via steelersnation.com.

“Special teams, I think we have to continue to work the fundamentals,” McCarthy said. “That was really the emphasis all week, and without seeing the film, that's something we need to continue to emphasize.”

Right now, the Steelers are getting a lot of mileage out of their offense, thanks in a big way to Jaylen Warren, according to NBC Sports.

“He’s produced, so it’s been heavy,” McCarthy said. “It’d be great to get Rico (Dowdle) back this week, too. Having him as a one-two punch was the vision of this offense, but Jaylen’s crushing it right now. He’s been awesome for us.”

Also, McCarthy said he has been pleased with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to USA Today.

“I thought Aaron did a great job of staying on time,” McCarthy told reporters after the game. “I thought his pocket presence was excellent, his ability to move with his feet and make plays out of the pocket was exactly what we needed.”

Rodgers said the Steelers are doing some good things.

“I felt like we moved the ball pretty good,” Rodgers said. “We also had some splash plays.”

Next up for the Steelers is a favorite role on the road against the Buccaneers. But then again, the Buccaneers are coming off a shocking handling of the Cowboys. So, they won’t be able to take this inter-conference matchup for granted.
