Through five weeks, Jaylen Warren has been one of the best running backs in the NFL from a production standpoint. The Pittsburgh Steelers ball carrier had 309 rushing yards and 143 receiving yards coming into the team's Week 5 game. He was even more dominant against the Indianapolis Colts.

In the 34-22 victory, Warren had 101 yards and a score on the ground. He added an additional 87 yards and a score through the air, which included a team-leading six receptions. Despite the success, the running back hasn't received much media attention, at least according to Aaron Rodgers.

“They have their favorites and people that they want to talk about,” Rodgers said. “So it is what it is.”

Q: Should Jaylen Warren be getting more recognition nationally?

Aaron Rodgers: “Yeah … but they have their favorites and people they wanna talk about.” #steelers https://t.co/QsXx3zmfeP

Warren has been an unheralded player since going undrafted in 2022. Coming into the season, many projected Rico Dowdle to emerge as the lead back in Pittsburgh. While an injury to Dowdle has played a part in that not happening, Warren has played his way into remaining the featured ball carrier going forward. Article Continues Below
Warren was underrated and had an unusual football path even before he joined the Steelers, too. The running back played for three programs in college, including Snow, Utah State, and Oklahoma State. Rodgers, meanwhile, is one of the most popular players in the NFL. Hopefully, his comments will bring much-deserved attention to the former NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Year.
