The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently gearing up for their Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday evening. The Steelers are coming off a thrilling home win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.
The Steelers' offense finally woke up in that game, but it's still largely been a slog on that side of the ball so far this year, thanks at least in part to the team's lack of elite receiving options behind star DK Metcalf.
Recently, Tim Crean of ClutchPoints released his latest NFL mock draft, and projected the Steelers to remedy that issue in the first round by selecting wide receiver Charlie Becker out of Indiana with the number 15 overall pick.
“The Steelers could go QB here, but with Will Howard and Drew Allar waiting in the wings, they will likely give those guys a shot first,” noted Crean.
Indeed, the Steelers already have two options at quarterback to succeed Aaron Rodgers, who has also struggled in 2026, next year, so it might make more sense for the team to go wide receiver in round one and give whoever they end up naming the quarterback the best chance possible to succeed.
Becker has had a standout career at Indiana, helping the team win the national championship last year with some big catches during the Hoosiers' playoff run, and figures to be one of the first wide receiver names off the board after Jeremiah Smith next season.
Meanwhile, having a good young receiver won't fix all of the Steelers' offensive woes, especially if neither Allar nor Howard ends up being the answer at quarterback, but it would certainly give the team a nice piece to work with moving forward.
