The Ottawa Senators are looking to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2027. Ottawa has made it two seasons in a row entering this year. Despite trading Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers in the summer, they think they can contend again. Tim Stutzle is a major reason why they have this belief.
Stutzle proved his worth on Monday night against the Boston Bruins. The Senators center scored two goals while adding an assist against Boston. Ottawa dominated the Bruins, winning by the score of 4-1.
With this performance, Stutzle has matched Tkachuk with the fourth most three-point games in franchise history, according to NHL Public Relations. Stutzle now trails only Alexei Yashin, Jason Spezza, and Daniel Alfredsson in this category.

Ottawa did not look back after this. They added another two goals in the second period to make it a 4-0 game entering the third. Young Bruins star James Hagens scored his second goal of the season, but it was too little, too late.
The Senators have won each of their first two games of the season. They still have a lot of hockey left to play, but this was a very promising showing. Ottawa will look to make it three in a row on Tuesday when it continues its season-opening road trip against the Detroit Red Wings.
