Coach Mike Macdonald's Seattle Seahawks have struggled on the offense line, leading to the acquisition of All-Pro former Colts guard Quenton Nelson at the trade deadline for help during the stretch run. Nelson suffered a right knee injury that has held him back recently, and led to a new injury plan shared by Macdonald on Friday, November 6.

Macdonald revealed that Nelson will have surgery for the injury but could be back before the end of the season. He is expected to miss Sunday, November 8's Week 9 clash against the Arizona Cardinals at Lumen Field in Seattle.

“Quenton's gonna be out, he has a, we're gonna get into a minor procedure, should be week-to-week at this point, we're not gonna put him on IR, so we'll go from there, but it's a timeline that warrants, not IR.”

Macdonald added that Nelson “had something he was dealing with when he got here,” and reinjured himself with the Seahawks.
