Saturday horse racing tips

Ayr

  • 13:55 - Ice Max 11/4 (1pt)

Newbury

  • 14:12 - Arapaho Gold 5/4 (1pt)

Ice Max

Ice Max has placed close up on both times we've seen him over 1m2f in 2026, the other two more disappointing runs albeit he wasn't far off in those were over just 1m.

Here though this trip looks beneficial, considering he placed close behind Boiling Point at Goodwood in listed company, even though he was sixth he was less than two lengths off five rivals.

Then at Chester in the Group 2 Huxley Stakes, he was behind Lambourn and Bay City Roller, which is great form really and this looks markedly easier.

Arapaho Gold

Arapaho Gold was odds-on before but drifted a touch despite being unbeaten in four runs.

Beat Nabati at Newbury before in July before winning over another nine rivals including ahead of Final Objective at York in August.

Jolivette was close up behind Libertango at York which proved to be great form so does appeal with 6lb in hand over the top-weighted Michael Dods-trained gelding, but she does get the filly allowance.

Nabati was disappointing last time out when third and quickly reappears here, but it looks all set for the favourite.
