The Milwaukee Brewers completed a historic sweep of the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Just how historic was the Brew Crew's feat? MLB.com's Sarah Langs, with help from Elias Sports, listed a bunch of them down on X, formerly Twitter, after the game.

For starters, there's the incredible revenge sweep. After getting swept by the Dodgers in last season's NLCS, the Brewers returned the favor to sweep the defending champions. Per Langs, it was just the eighth time that two teams met in the postseason again after a sweep in the previous campaign. And the Brewers become the first team to sweep the team that swept them. They also became the first team in the four major North American sports to achieve this feat since the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers in 1968.

Moreover, Langs shared Elias Sports' stat that the Brewers became just the fifth team in MLB history to sweep a defending World Series champion in a best-of-seven series and the first to do so outside a World Series.

Then there's the comebacks. Langs notes that the Brewers became the first team to trail in all four games of a best-of-seven series they swept. The Brew Crew came back from a four-run deficit in Game 4, which tied the largest comeback in an LCS clinching game.

The Brewers' relievers certainly played their part in those comebacks, and they are part of history as well. Milwaukee is the first team to have a reliever win in at least seven of their first eight postseason games. It was also the first time that a team completed a best-of-seven sweep with relievers winning all four games.

Now it's back to the World Series for the Brewers for the first time since 1982. Their 43-year gap in between trips to the Fall Classic is the third-longest in history behind only the Chicago Cubs (70 years) and White Sox (45).Brewers
