The Atlanta Braves are currently gearing up for Game 3 of their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, having knotted things up at 1-1 with an impressive road victory on Sunday. The Braves have made it to this point of the postseason despite a mostly quiet playoff run for star Ronald Acuna Jr., who had several frustrating at-bats during the first two games in Los Angeles.
Recently, Acuna Jr. went viral during a podcast appearance with former Braves teammate William Contreras, during which Contreras asked Acuna how he feels now that his “crazy” former coach is gone, without specifying which one he was referring to.
“All good bro. They didn’t bother me again. You know that c***s***** thought he was the king,” said Acuna, per @masterflip_ on X, formerly Twitter.
Many, including the original poster, thought that this was in reference to former Braves manager Brian Snitker, who stepped down after last season in favor of Walt Weiss.
However, other fans were not convinced that Snitker was the target of Acuna's diss.
“You don’t know what’s being said. Just stay out of it. Yall trying to blow this up to create distractions during our great playoff run. I hate yall!” wrote one fan on the social media platform.
Article Continues BelowAcuna and Snitker were speculated at times to have not had the best of relationships, although it would certainly be a shocking escalation of things if that's really who Acuna was talking about in this clip, especially considering that Snitker is still a member of the organization in a front office role.
In any case, the Braves will take the field for Game 3 vs the Dodgers on Tuesday at 6:00 pm ET, with Chris Sale on the mound.
