Boston Red Sox star outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela returned from the injured list on Wednesday, but he later exited the game against the Cleveland Guardians after his first at-bat. Rafaela appeared to be in some pain after rounding first base following a base hit. After he exited the matchup, manager Chad Tracy revealed what led to Rafaela's exit on the ESPN broadcast, via Tyler Milliken.

“Just saw him continuing to flex it, that's all,” Tracy told. “He seemed to have felt some cramping in the back there, and then was able to run. Then when you watched him go back out there he kept flexing it, so we felt like let's go ahead and make the change.”

It seemed to be around his hamstring area. The Red Sox will continue to monitor and provide updates on Ceddanne Rafael's injury status as they are made available.
