Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey knows the challenge waiting for him against the Cincinnati Bengals. Ja'Marr Chase is one of the NFL's most dangerous wide receivers, and Humphrey has plenty of respect for the star receiver. Still, he would prefer not to spend the entire game covering him.

Jamison Hensley shared Humphrey's comments on X ahead of the AFC North showdown, with the veteran cornerback acknowledging the difficulty of facing Cincinnati's receiving duo.

“Yeah, it'd be cool if I didn't match up with him so much, but he's obviously one of the best in the game. Tee [Higgins] is right up there with him in the top 10 in this league,” Humphrey said.

“I think the biggest thing going into the matchup is you just want to try to win more than they win and try to limit the explosive,” Humphrey added. “We look forward to the challenge. I think it'll be a great opportunity.”

The Ravens need that defensive mindset after a disappointing loss to the Cleveland Browns last week. With another division rival on deck, Baltimore has an opportunity to respond while trying to keep pace in a competitive AFC North race. A win could carry major implications for both teams.

There is also reason for optimism on the Baltimore sideline. Lamar Jackson returned to practice this week, potentially putting the Ravens in position to regain their offensive rhythm. His presence gives Baltimore a different dimension and could help the team build momentum as the season progresses.

Still, the matchup with Cincinnati presents a serious test. Humphrey and the Ravens' secondary must find a way to contain Chase and Higgins without allowing either receiver to take over the game.

Humphrey knows exactly what Chase can do. Now, Baltimore needs its defense to make sure the Bengals' star spends more time frustrated than celebrating.
